DROBO launches Network Attached Storage for SMBs

DROBO, which is a well known Network Attached Storage (NAS) provider, has come up with a new NAS device mainly targeting small and medium scale enterprises. The Drobo 5N is a small business network attached device which is apt to be used in companies, which do not have big IT support resources.

DROBO 5N is enriched with an automated data protection feature, where it is offered to save the data and recover it when the power supply goes out. Drobo 5N is offered with solid state drives and hard disks. So, the federation of both these storage media makes this storage solution act as a tiered storage. It supports Mac and windows platforms and is apt to be used as a backup and data sharing solution.

DROBO 5N is a product offered with one GB Ethernet port and is offered as a five bay storage solution. Each bay is capable of holding 3.5 inches of SATA hard drive or an SSD. In order to get an accelerated performance, an mSATA SSD is enclosed into this solution.
