Microsoft’s outlook.com is down and the outage is said to stretch beyond 20 hours. Although, browser-based access works fine, several Microsoft-made clients- including Outlook in Office 2003, 2007 and 2010, can’t retrieve or send mail
The outage of outlook’s email services started on Wednesday and was supposed to be solved by 8PM ET on Thursday. But for some reasons, Microsoft failed to reach to the core of glitch by the end of yesterday evening.
In a media update, the company Redmond giant admitted that it has rolled out a fix, which may take a few hours to resolve. It added that the services will be restored fully by the mid day of Friday ET.
According the software giant, the affected email clients include Windows Live Mail, an older program last updated in 2012; the touch enabled email applications integrated with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 and Office Connector.
Therefore, except the services of Outlook.com in Outlook-2003, 2007 and 2010; the newest Outlook 2013 on Windows or Outlook 2011 for the Mac are perfectly fine.
