Data Storage Company may soon be brought by privately owned American computer technology company Dell Inc in coming months. As per some media sources, Dell is planning to buy all or part of EMC to mark a new chapter in the PC makers history.
In August this year, there were reports that EMC was preparing for a downstream merger with its business unit VMware, which it purchased in 2003.
But now, quashing those reports aside, Dell has emerged as a new prospect interested in buying $50 billion worth EMC. The company may buy EMC for $60 billion. But the deal is not yet finalized.
However, a report in Wall Street Journal which appeared yesterday cautioned users that the agreement was not yet fully finalized. The same media source revealed that Hewlett Packard, IBM, Cisco Systems and Oracle were also in the race to buy EMC, if Dell backs out in the last minute.
