LG has finally patched a security flaw on its Android G3 Smart Phones, after researchers from security firms BugSec and Cynet reported that the app has a tendency to steal user data.
LG’s android smart phone application, called Smart Notice, is a kind of multifunctional widget, which helps in managing contacts, notifications, weather and traffic alerts.
This application, when exploited by hackers through a malicious java script could turn fatal, as it has the potential to sneak into the SD card and leak out information stored in its SD card, such as private images and chat messages.
The issue with Smart Notice is that it doesn’t validate the data presented to users. And this feature of it is encouraging hackers to get their hands on user credentials.
Since, LG has issued a patch; people with vulnerable LG G3 smart phones could install it as soon as possible, in order to avoid any future troubles.
