Panasonic LB-DH8 series Optical Disc Library system combines sets of Data Archiver Magazines, with 12- Blu-Ray Disc media in each one. The company claims that it has more than 50 years of life which is safe and secure for large volumes of data at low running cost.
In the year 2014, Facebook announced that it is using Blu-Ray discs for cold data archival needs. From then on companies like Sony and Fujifilm are coming up with solutions based on these extinct optical drives.
