Azure’s Cloud supports new FedRAMP P-ATO approved services

Microsoft recently announced a new set of supported services to be added to Azure Government Cloud, expanding its FedRAMP Provisional Authorization. The newly added services include, Backup, storSimple, Notification Hubs, Site Recovery and Service Bus. All the new services are Joint Authorization Board (JAB) approved for addition to Azure Government’s P-ATO at the high impact level.

Azure Backup: A cost-effective and simple backup solution with rich and powerful tools in the cloud, Azure’s new Government Cloud Backup service extends on the tried-and-trusted tools on premises. No matter where the customer’s data resides, Azure’s Backup provides protection to your enterprise data center, local and remote office branches or public clouds, offering unique services for data on each scenario.

Azure StorSimple: StorSimple eliminates many of the enterprise cloud storage and data protection problems and expenses through an easily managed Storage Area Network (SAN) solution that is cost-effective and efficient. StorSimple is regarded as an integrated storage solution that manages storage tasks between Microsoft Azure cloud storage and on-premises devices.

Azure Notification Hubs: Azure Notification Hubs is designed to quickly send millions of notifications to Android, iOS, Windows or kindle devices working with Google Cloud Message (GCM), Apple Push Notification Services (APNS), Windows Push Notification Services (WNS), Microsoft Push Notification Service (MPNS), and more. It acts as a massively scalable mobile push notification engine.

Azure Site Recovery: Organizes the replication of virtual machines and on-premises physical servers to the Azure cloud or to a secondary datacenter allowing enterprises to meet Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) objectives.

Azure Service Bus: Azure Service Bus connects applications running on-premises systems, on Azure or both. It caters for cloud-enabled communication with enterprise messaging and relayed communication to help connect devices, services and applications. Service Bus offers the Event Hubs feature which is a highly scalable, publish-subscribe service that can absorb millions of events per second and stream them into multiple applications.

Following the addition of Microsoft Azure’s new services, 18 Government offerings for Azure that meet the FedRAMP High baseline standard are obtained.
