World’s biggest online retailer Amazon suffered a technical glitch last week due to which the website remained inaccessible for 13 minutes. While many think that the said time frame is not a big number, the company disclosed that the downtime has caused it a $2 million loss on per minute basis.
Further clarifying the details, Amazon disclosed that the downtime was caused due to a software bug and the outage cost it $203,577 per minute loss or a $2,646,501 price tag for the 13 minute downtime episode.
In the year 2013, a downtime of similar sort caused the retailer face $66,240 loss per minute. Earlier in June 2008, the lost was close to $31,000.minute based on Amazon’s 2008 net sales revenue.
